As regards the appointment of an Officer to be Adjutant, I beg to state that such an appointment would be most useful on both Military and Civil grounds, and so that there may be no delay for reference to myself or to the Colonial Office, I shall be glad to nominate a competent Officer for the Adjutancy on the usual understanding that he continues to perform his regimental and garrison duties.
Have to sanction the appointment, subject to the approval of His Royal Highness the Field Marshal Commanding in Chief.
